Artbotics Workshop at Global Conference on Educational Robotics 2012
The 2012 Global Conference on Educational Robotics was held in Honolulu, Hawaii at the Hawaii Convention Center from July 18 - July 22, 2012. An Artbotics preconference workshop was held on Tuesday, July 17, among others including Solidworks CAD design and building circuits for the Arduino microcontroller. The Artbotics workshop ran in conjunction with another program, "botTunes," which focuses on students using robotics materials to make and play instruments.
The first half of the workshop saw students programming the Super Cricket microcontroller on a car base with a marker attached to draw patterns. During the second half students added servo motors and sensors to build animated characters and/or music-playing projects. Some students used the Super Cricket while others used the KIPR CBC v2 robot controller. The workshop was a great success; photos and videos will be uploaded soon!
