Robotics Lab Videos at Human-Robot Interaction 2012 Conference in Boston, MA

Two videos from the Robotics Lab have been accepted into HRI 2012: 7th ACM/IEEE International Conference on Human-Robot Interaction in Boston, MA. They will be showcased during the video session on Thursday, March 8, 2012.

Multi-User Multi-Touch Multi-Robot Command and Control: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rHI7kkL1I5Q
This video is of our multi-touch interface for command and control of individual or multiple robots, simulated using Microsoft Robotics Developer Studio and the Microsoft Surface, now supporting additional users on the Apple iPad. Multiple users on multiple devices can collaboratively interact with the robots in this environment, working together to accomplish a common goal.

Situation Understanding Bot Through Language and Environment: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ys2iVOOVJQ
This video is a demonstration of a fully autonomous robot which can be commanded using natural language. Users type commands to the robot which are then parsed and processed using semantic analysis. This information is used to build a plan representing the high level autonomous behaviors the robot should perform.
